About the Instructor
- Dr Bala Subramaniam is an MBBS-qualified doctor and an MD in pharmacology, with extensive academic training from B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad. His expertise in medical science liaison, pharmacovigilance, and clinical research is instrumental for our P.G. Certification in Upskill programmes.
- Dr. Subramniam currently works as a Medical Advisor at the globally renowned AstraZeneca. He also worked as a Senior Regional Medical Advisor at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, where he led a team of RMAs and supported national medical affairs initiatives. His experience spans successful product launches such as Vonoprazan and Elobixibat, sales team training and the execution of medical strategies across India.
- Prior to this, he worked with Pfizer as an Area Medical Advisor in Oncology and with Boehringer Ingelheim as a Medical Science Liaison for Jardiance. In these positions, he collaborated closely with KOLs, supported clinical study rollouts, reviewed scientific materials, and contributed to cross-functional medico-marketing activities.
- Dr. Bala also has hands-on experience in medical affairs, pharmacovigilance, including safety reporting, ICSR medical review, VigiFlow data management, and training physicians and students in drug safety processes.
- He is known for his clear and approachable teaching skills, making complex medical and scientific concepts easy for learners to understand. His background in research, clinical teaching and medical affairs enables him to guide students preparing for careers in Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Medical Science Liaison roles, Drug Safety, and Clinical Research.
