- Roy Chihaka is a pharmacist with vast experience in diverse facets of the pharmaceutical industry, such as regulation, academia and clinical sectors.
- He completed his Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honors) from the University of Zimbabwe. Later, he pursued his Masters in Medicine from the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tianjin, China, with Plant Pharmacology as a specialisation.
- Roy has extended experience, including 7 years of experience as a Zimbabwean regulator of the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe. Later, he started working as a lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe.
- Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. from Southern Cross University in New South Wales.
- Roy has also successfully cleared the KAPS exam.

Greetings from Papua New Guinea. At first I didn’t know where to start and how to approach the AMC MCQ exam. Since June 2023 when I started this sessions on AMC preparation the story is different now. The Two lecturers Namely, Dr Swapnil and Dr Udara are exceptionally committed and deliver well. About The Oman Prometric Examination
What is the Oman Prometric Exam?
The Omani Examination for Pharmacists (OPE) or the Oman Medical Speciality Board (OMSB) Prometric exam is a registration examination for foreign-trained pharmacists who are seeking registration in Oman. Oman is one of the best countries for pharmacists, as it offers several benefits such as high salaries, good work-life balance and a tax-free income. This easy exam can help you get a job and visa in Oman.
Oman Prometric Exam Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Omani Examination for Pharmacists, a pharmacist must meet the following criteria-
- A pharmacy degree (B.Pharm, PharmD or M.Pharm)
- Registration as a pharmacist in home country
- A continuous experience of 3 years or more in a hospital or retail pharmacy without any gap
- No language requirements
Procedure for Oman Prometric
1. Document Verification- In this step, your credentials and documents are validated by the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) and Dataflow Group. This is also known as the PSV procedure, and it is mandatory to be able to take the exam.
2. Oman Prometric Exam Registration for Pharmacists- Register for the exam by scheduling an online test. After completing the Primary Source Verification (PSV), you will be provided with an Eligibility Number, which you have to use to book your test through the Oman Prometric website.
3. Visa Filing- After clearing the exam, you must find a job in Oman, which you can find online from your home country. Post that, you need to get documents attested by the Oman embassy in your country and then you will be granted a visa.
4. Viva Exam- When you reach Oman, your employer will sponsor your accommodation and food while you prepare for the viva exam. After passing the viva, you can get registered as a pharmacist in Oman.
Exam Format
The exam is conducted in MCQ format that contains questions from 4 sections, which are-
- Basic Biomedical Sciences – 15 Questions
- Pharmaceutical Sciences – 53 Questions
- Social/Behavioral/Administrative Sciences – 30 Questions
- Clinical Sciences – 52 Questions
The duration of the exam for 150 MCQs is of 3 hours.
Passing criteria: To be eligible for licensure a candidate must secure 60% in a Oman prometric exam for pharmacists that is 90 correct MCQs out of 150.
Testing Centres
You can take the Omani exam for pharmacists (OPE) at your nearest Oman Prometric Test Centre. In India, there are several centres in cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kerala, Mumbai, Kochi, Trivandrum and more.
