About The PTE Examination

What is the PTE Exam?

One of the most important parts of moving abroad to study, work, or settle is to prove your English proficiency. There are several tests to prove your proficiency, and one such exam is PTE. The Pearson Test for English (PTE) exam is designed to assess your English language proficiency in listening, reading, speaking, and writing. It is conducted by the Pearson PLC Group. The exam is computer-based, providing a seamless and efficient testing experience. The PTE Exam is taken in a test centre and is held for two hours.

PTE Exam Eligibility Criteria

Any person can take the exam. There is generally no specific age requirement for taking the PTE exam. To appear for the exam make sure that you have the following:

Test-takers are required to present a valid identification document (passport, national ID card, etc.) on the day of the exam to verify their identity.

You need to register for the PTE exam in advance through the official Pearson PTE website or authorized test centres.

Procedure for PTE

1. Registration

The first step of the PTE Exam is the registration. Visit the official PTE website and create an account. Choose a test centre and a date that is convenient for you and then pay the exam fee.

2. The PTE Exam

The PTE exam is an online exam. It consists of several sections, including speaking, writing, reading, and listening.

3. Results

After completing the exam, your scores will be sent to you via email. PTE scores are typically available within a few business days from the test date.

Exam Format

The PTE test is entirely computer-based, making it convenient for test-takers to interact with the test interface. Responses to speaking and writing tasks are recorded via a microphone and keyboard, respectively. The total test duration for the PTE exam is approximately 3 hours, and it is conducted in a single sitting. The PTE exam consists of three main sections:

Speaking and Writing, Listening, and Reading.

There are about 35 testing centres for the PTE Exam. You can choose the nearest one to your place and write the ease with ease.
