About The Examination

What is the AMC Exam

Why Should You Take the AMC Exam?

The AMC exam is a two-part assessment conducted by the Australian Medical Council (AMC) for international medical graduates (IMGs) who wish to practice medicine in Australia. It includes the AMC Part 1 (CAT MCQ) and AMC Part 2 (Clinical) exams. The AMC Part 1 is a computer-adaptive test consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) designed to assess your medical knowledge. The AMC Clinical Exam (Part 2) evaluates your clinical skills across various medical specialties.

Both exams are administered by Pearson VUE. While you can take the AMC Part 1 exam in your home country at an approved test center, the AMC Clinical Exam must be taken in Australia at a designated AMC testing venue. Once you successfully complete both parts of the AMC exam, you become eligible to apply for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia, and you may also proceed with a work or permanent residency (PR) visa application.
