Greetings from Papua New Guinea. At first I didn’t know where to start and how to approach the AMC MCQ exam. Since June 2023 when I started this sessions on AMC preparation the story is different now. The Two lecturers Namely, Dr Swapnil and Dr Udara are exceptionally committed and deliver well. The team is always available to answer to us anytime. They provide great support. I have not done the skill assessment yet, hoping to get that done this week and hopefully I will sit for the exam in November 2023.

About The USMLE Examination
What is the USMLE Exam?
Becoming a doctor in the USA is one of the greatest achievements and privilege. Post-COVID, there’s a high demand for doctors in the USA. To become a licensed doctor in the USA, the international medical graduate should take on the USMLE.
USMLE stands for the United States Medical Licensing Examination. It is a series of standardised tests that medical students and graduates must pass to obtain a medical license to practice medicine in the United States.

USMLE Exam Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the USMLE, the following criteria must be met:
- Candidates must be enrolled in or a graduate of a non-U.S. and non-Canadian medical school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, meeting ECFMG criteria.
- Candidates must meet any other criteria set by the ECFMG as mandated.
Procedure for USMLE
The United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) is a series of exams that medical students and graduates must pass to become licensed physicians in the United States. The process of applying for and scheduling USMLE Steps 1 & 2 involves several steps. Here is a general procedure:
Create a USMLE/ECFMG ID via IWA
Go to the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) website and navigate to the "Applying for Examination" section. Click on "Interactive Web Applications (IWA)" to create an ECFMG account and obtain your USMLE/ECFMG ID.
Submit an online application for USMLE Step 1 via IWA
Log in to your IWA account. Complete the application for USMLE Step 1. You have to provide personal information, medical school information, and payment for the examination fees. Submit the required documentation, such as medical school transcripts, to ECFMG.
Schedule a test date via Prometric
Once your application is processed and approved, you will receive a scheduling permit from ECFMG. This permit will allow you to schedule a test date with Prometric. You will need to pay the testing fee to Prometric when scheduling your exam.
Exam Format
Step 1
USMLE Step 1 assesses understanding and application of medical science concepts. It's an 8-hour, one-day exam with seven 60-minute blocks of questions, each with a maximum of 40 questions, totalling no more than 280 questions.
There is a minimum of 45 minutes of break time and a 15-minute optional tutorial. Break time can be extended by completing blocks or skipping the tutorial.
Step 2
USMLE Step 2 CK evaluates the application of medical knowledge and clinical skills for patient care, including health promotion and disease prevention.
It's a 9-hour, one-day exam with eight 60-minute blocks of questions (up to 40 questions per block), totalling a maximum of 318 questions.
There's a minimum 45-minute break time and a 15-minute optional tutorial.
Testing Centres
PROMETRIC administers assessments for USMLE. The test centres for USMLE in India are Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahemadabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Allahabad, Mumbai and New Delhi
