The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam is designed to effectively assess the English proficiency of candidates in different areas like listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.
The IELTS exam is computer-administered and is conducted at an official IELTS test centre.
There are no specific eligibility requirements for the IELTS exam. It is recommended that the student must be at least 16 years of age. Irrespective of their gender, nationality, or background, anybody can register for the exam.
1. Registration
The IELTS exam registration can be done through the website www.ieltsidpindia.com
You can schedule your exam by choosing a test centre and a date that is convenient for you and finish by paying the fee.
2. The IELTS Exam
You can attend the IELTS exam and complete the included sections of IELTS reading, writing, listening, and speaking, as instructed.
3. Results
The IELTS exam taken on paper at a test centre takes 13 days to deliver results and the IELTS exam taken on a computer at a test centre takes 3-5 days to deliver results.
The IELTS exam includes four different papers. There are two modules available according to specific needs: IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training.
The four sections included are:
Listening - 40 questions, Reading - 40 questions, Writing - 2 tasks, Speaking - 3 parts.

There are no limits to the number of attempts that can be made. The IELTS exam is conducted 48 times a year, four times per month.
