About The Examination
Why Should You Take the Exam?
If you’re an internationally trained physiotherapist planning to work in Saudi Arabia, the Prometric exam is one of the key steps. It’s a licensing exam conducted under the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and is required for most physiotherapists who don’t qualify for the “Direct Decision” route.
The test is computer-based and consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). It’s designed to assess whether you’re ready to safely and effectively work in the Saudi healthcare system.
Once you pass the exam, you can apply for professional classification and licensing. This license allows you to legally practice physiotherapy in Saudi Arabia
Procedure For
1. Document Preparation
Get the following documents ready for DataFlow verification:
- BPT/DPT or MPT/MS degree certificate
- Academic transcripts
- Valid physiotherapy license from your home country
- Work experience letter(s)
- Good Standing Certificate
2. Apply for DataFlow Verification
Submit your documents for Primary Source Verification (PSV) through the SCFHS DataFlow portal. It takes around 2–3 weeks.
3. Create an Account on Mumaris Plus
Register on the Mumaris Plus portal, this is the official SCFHS system for licensing healthcare professionals.
4. Apply for Professional Classification
Choose one of the two routes:
With MPT/MS Degree
- Apply via “Direct Decision” pathway
- You might be called for an interview (virtual or in-person) with clinical case discussions
- If approved, you may get licensed without needing the Prometric exam
With DPT/BPT Only
- You’ll need to sit for the Saudi Prometric Exam
- Your classification might be as a “Technician” based on degree and experience
5. Schedule & Take the Prometric Exam (if required)
The Saudi Prometric Exam for physiotherapists is a CBT (Computer-Based Test) format. It is conducted via Prometric testing centres
6. Apply for Professional Registration
Once you pass the exam or clear the interview, apply for Professional Registration via Mumaris Plus to receive your official SCFHS license.
