The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) for admission into MPharm programs across India. It assesses candidates knowledge in key areas of pharmacy and is a crucial step for BPharm graduates aspiring to pursue MPharm. A good GPAT score can help secure admission into top pharmacy colleges and may also qualify candidates for government scholarships.
GPAT is a national level examination for award of scholarship to qualified candidates seeking entry into the Master of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) course.
The first GPAT was conducted in the year 2010 and thereafter it was conducted every year till 2018 by AICTE as per the directions of Ministry of Education, Government of India and from the year 2019, the examination is conducted through the NTA as per the directions of Ministry of Education, Government of India to till 2023.
The Pharmacy Council of India has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) for conducting the GPAT.
1. Registration and Application Submission
Visit the official NBEMS website to register for the GPAT exam. Fill in the required personal and academic details on the application form and upload the necessary documents, including a passport-sized photograph, signature, and educational certificates.
The GPAT notification 2025 is expected to be released in April on the official website of NBEMS - natboard.edu.in.
2. Fee Payment and Form Submission
Pay the application fee online. After completing the form and uploading the documents, submit the application and download the confirmation page for your records.

3. Download the Admit Card and Take the GPAT Exam
After completing your application, download the admit card from the NBEMS website https://natboard.edu.in/. On the exam day, bring the admit card and a valid ID to the designated test centre to take the GPAT.
The GPAT exam has a duration of 3 hours and is conducted using a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. It consists of 125 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with a total of 500 marks.

Marking Scheme:
The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is a national-level entrance exam for admission into M.Pharm from premier Pharmacy Institutes across the country
Candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognised institution.
Final-year B.Pharm students are also eligible to apply.
