About The GPAT

What is the GPAT

The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) for admission into M.Pharm programs across India. It evaluates your understanding of key pharmacy subjects and serves as an important step for B.Pharm graduates planning to pursue higher studies. A strong GPAT score can help you secure a seat in top pharmacy colleges and may also make you eligible for government scholarships.

GPAT is not just an entrance exam but also a gateway to financial support for students enrolling in MPharm programs. It is specifically designed to identify qualified candidates for postgraduate pharmacy education.

The exam was first introduced in 2010 and was conducted by AICTE until 2018 under the guidance of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. From 2019 onwards, it has been conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and more recently, the responsibility has been taken over by NBEMS.

Additionally, the Pharmacy Council of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NBEMS to ensure smooth and efficient conduct of the GPAT exam.
