Overseas Pharmacist Readiness Assessment (OPRA) is not just an exam. It is a license for overseas pharmacists to work and settle in Australia. It is a defining milestone. OPRA, as the name suggests, is the licensure exam for pharmacists who wish to work as registered pharmacists in Australia. Dr. Akram Ahmad, Founder and CEO of Academically Global Pvt Ltd, comes from similarly humble beginnings. Raised in Sahaswan, a small town in Uttar Pradesh, his journey is full of hardships, facing constant discouragement when he first started sharing educational content online. Success Stories that Deserve to be Heard
Every OPRA result carries a human story behind it. This year, some of those stories moved us deeply, reminding us why global healthcare education matters.
One such story comes from Chaitanya Kumar, Hyderabad, India, a father of two young children. Chaitanya has been working as a community pharmacist for over a decade, balancing long working hours with family responsibilities. His preparation time was often limited to late nights, after his children had fallen asleep. Financial pressure was constant, but quitting was never an option. With disciplined planning, recorded OPRA sessions, and focused revision using adaptive AI mock tests, Chaitanya cleared the OPRA exam on his first attempt. For him, this success is not just personal. It is about securing a better future for his family in Australia.
We have Mohd. Shoyeb from Uttar Pradesh, whose journey reflects resilience in its purest form. Coming from a financially struggling background, Shoyeb grew up watching his parents make daily sacrifices to support his education. There were months during OPRA preparation when arranging exam fees felt uncertain. He studied using shared devices, relied heavily on structured study handouts and attended every live session without fail. Clearing OPRA was more than a career milestone for him. Shamshad Rehman from Pakistan had already attempted for the exam once before joining Academically. Due to a lack of guidance, it all went to haste. Instead of giving up, she chose to reflect, reassess, and restart. Clearing OPRA under such conditions speaks volumes about his determination and belief in a better future.
