This pathway is ideal for physiotherapists with unrestricted registration or qualifications from recognised countries, specifically the UK, Ireland, Canada, or South Africa.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Hold unrestricted registration as a physiotherapist in the UK, Ireland, Canada, or South Africa.
- OR holds a physiotherapy qualification from these countries recognised by the respective regulatory body.
Processing Time:
Once all documents are submitted correctly, the application takes around 1-2 weeks to process.
Application Process:
- Phase 1: Initial review of your application for completeness.
- Phase 2: If all criteria are met, your registration is approved by the Registrar.

Who Can Apply?
- Physiotherapists trained outside of New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Ireland, Canada, or South Africa.
Processing Time:
The entire process can take between 6 to 9 months, depending on the complexity of your application.

- Phase 1: Initial review of documents.
- Phase 2: Curriculum review to determine alignment with New Zealand standards.
