The SPLE, or Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Examination, is the essential step for internationally trained pharmacists to become fully registered and recognized in Saudi Arabia. This exam doesn’t just test knowledge, it evaluates your clinical skills, decision-making, and ability to handle real pharmacy scenarios, ensuring you meet the same high standards as local professionals.
The SPLE is your gateway to rewarding, tax-free earnings and a stable career, required for both domestic and foreign-trained pharmacists.
Procedure For SPLE
The Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Examination (SPLE) involves a few essential steps to ensure you are fully eligible and ready to practice as a licensed pharmacist in Saudi Arabia:
- DataFlow Verification
Submit your pharmacy degree, transcripts, and professional documents for Primary Source Verification (PSV) through DataFlow to receive your Eligibility Number.
- Mumaris Plus Registration
Create your profile on the Mumaris Plus portal, the official system used by SCFHS to manage applications for healthcare professionals, including pharmacists.
- Professional Classification
Apply for Professional Classification on Mumaris Plus. SCFHS will review your credentials and confirm your eligibility to appear for the SPLE.
- SPLE Exam
Take the Saudi Pharmacist Licensure Examination (SPLE), a computer-based test (CBT) consisting of multiple-choice questions covering clinical pharmacy, therapeutics, pharmaceutical sciences, and patient care. Once passed, your results are valid for 2 years.
- Professional Registration (SCFHS License)
Apply for Professional Registration through Mumaris Plus. Once approved, you will receive your official license, allowing you to start practicing as a pharmacist in Saudi Arabia.
Note: There is no English language test (IELTS/OET) required to work as a pharmacist in Saudi Arabia.

Exam Format
- The exam consists entirely of multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
- There are 2 separate sessions, each with 105 questions
- Total exam time is 4 hours (2 hours per session)
- The minimum passing score is 536 out of 800
- Conducted at Prometric centers worldwide
