The NCLEX Exam is conducted by Pearson VUE in centres spread across different countries of the world. The National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) is the gateway for global registered nurses to practise nursing in Australia, USA and Canada.
To be able to take the NCLEX exam, a person must be registered nurse in a country, and must possess a 4-year nursing degree. Eligibility criteria for the NCLEX exam includes-

1. Initial Assessment
This is the first step of the procedure, where the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (of the state that you are applying for) analyses your eligibility to practise as a nurse. The process involves filing up a form and sending it for approval.
2. NCLEX MCQ Exam
Once you pass the initial assessment, you become eligible to take the NCLEX MCQ Exam, which you can take in a Pearson testing centre near you.
The Pearson NCLEX exam contains questions in MCQ format, which you have to answer to qualify for the exam with a minimum score of 75 out of 145.
3. English Proficiency
After the NCLEX MCQ exam, you need to pass any English proficiency test such as IELTS, PTE, OET etc, which is acceptable in the state you are applying for. Proving English proficiency is vital for visa application into a native-English speaking country.
4. OSCE Exam
The last steps of the procedure is a practical exam that needs to be cleared. This exam is conducted by the nursing board of the country you are applying to, such as the Nursing and Midwifery Board in Australia.
Clearing this exam allows you to apply for a visa in the respective country.
The NCLEX MCQ exam consists of 3 parts, and the number of questions varies for each candidate.
