Created On : Apr 10, 2025 Updated On : Apr 11, 2025 3 min read

For a long time, Pakistani medical graduates aiming to work in Australia had to travel abroad just to take the AMC MCQ exam. Many chose nearby countries like the UAE, India, which meant additional expenses, time off work, and the hassle of visa applications.

That’s no longer the case. The AMC has now opened the first AMC centre in Pakistan. Read on to know more.

When Can You Book the Exam?

Starting Friday, 11th April 2025, candidates will be able to schedule their AMC MCQ (CAT) exam in Pakistan through the Pearson VUE portal.

This is a much-awaited development for doctors across the country who’ve been preparing for the AMC exam but held back by the lack of a local test centre.

What About the Location?

While the news for the first AMC test centre in Pakistan is out, the exact location hasn’t been officially announced yet. It’s expected to be in a major city and run by Pearson VUE, which conducts AMC exams worldwide.

Why This Matters?

Having a local test centre means:

  • No international travel just to write the AMC exam
  • Lower costs, especially for recent graduates
  • Less time off work or internship
  • Fewer logistical hurdles, so you can focus on preparing

What to Do Now?

If you’re planning to take the AMC exam:

  • Make sure your AMC portfolio is ready
  • Keep an eye on the Pearson VUE portal from April 11th onward
  • Book your slot early, there’s likely to be high demand
  • Start or continue your preparation with reliable resources

Final words

This update makes the AMC journey more practical for many doctors in Pakistan. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to get started, this is a great opportunity to move ahead without leaving the country.
