What is the Kuwait MOH

The Kuwait MOH Exam for pharmacists is a qualifying exam required for the registration and licensing of international pharmacists, ensuring that applicants are competent and eligible to practise safely in Kuwait.

Migrating to Kuwait as a pharmacist is relatively easy compared to non-Gulf countries, due to fewer immigration restrictions, lower costs, and the lack of a language proficiency requirement. The country offers abundant pharmacy job opportunities, with less competition in the job market, making it an attractive destination for those looking to advance their careers in pharmacy.

Kuwait MOH Exam Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Kuwait MOH Exam for Pharmacists, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A BPharm or MPharm degree.
  • A minimum of two years of experience as a pharmacist or pharmacy assistant is required, with the experience starting from the date of your degree convocation or later
  • Registration as a licensed pharmacist in your home country.
     

Procedure for Kuwait MOH Exam

1. Attest Educational Documents

  • Have your educational documents attested by the Government of India before applying for pharmacy jobs in Kuwait.

2. Obtain Employment Letter

  • Secure a position as a pharmacist or pharmacy assistant at a hospital or pharmacy.
  • Request an employment letter from the employer confirming their intention to hire you as a pharmacist.

3. Submit Documents to Drug Inspection Authority

  • Submit the employment letter and your attested educational documents to the drug inspection authority in the Sabah region. This can be done either in person or through your HR department.

4. Apply for Data and Equivalency Verification

  • ISVSC Data Check: Apply online for data verification by ISVSC. The verification process takes about a month and costs approximately 100 KD. ISVSC Portal
  • Ministry of Kuwait Equivalency: Apply online for equivalency verification with the Ministry of Kuwait, upload your documents, and schedule an appointment at Sanabil Tower. Your university will verify your degree and send it to the Kuwait Embassy. The process can take 3 to 6 months. 

5. Complete Training and Testing

  • Before your equivalency is verified, the Drug Inspection Department will arrange for you to undergo one week of training at a specified government hospital. You will take a test at the end of the training, and the report will be sent to the Drug Control Department.
  • Follow up with Sanabil Tower to collect your equivalency-approved certificate or reference number.

6. Schedule and Take the Exam

  • After receiving the ISVSC verification results, submit them to the drug control/inspection committee, either in person or through your HR department, to schedule your pharmacy exam. The exam will be conducted using an OMR sheet. Check your exam results at the Drug Control Department after 1-2 weeks. If you pass the written exam, you will then proceed to an oral exam.

7. Obtain Pharmacist ID Card

  • Visit the Kuwait Pharmacy Association (KUPHA) in Jabriya to pay the membership fee of approximately 25 KD. KUPHA will issue your Kuwait Pharmacist Identity Card.

8. Process Electronic Pharmacy License

  • Submit the KUPHA receipt to your HR department to process your electronic pharmacy licence with the Drug Control Department. The licence will be valid for 2 years and will include your sponsor’s name (i.e., hospital or pharmacy).
